The May Pyramyd – First fixed monument of Buenos Aires
The May Pyramid was installed in 1811, in front of the Cabildo, in commemoration of the first anniversary of the May Revolution. Until that moment the images were moved from one place to another, as in the processions. The May Pyramid became the first fixed Monument of Buenos Aires.
During the Dirty War (1976–1983); The Mothers’ association was formed by women who had met each other while trying to find their missing sons and daughters. They started demonstrations on the Plaza de Mayo, in front of the Casa Rosada presidential palace, and they walk around the Pyramid once a week, as you can see in the photograph
